Hello, sorry for the delay, I know it's been awhile, I am now settled in the new condo in Las Vegas and a couple of weeks into the new job. As for The Daily Pablar, where should we go with it? Should we rename it 'The Weekly Pablar'? We will continue with the funnest movies ever, when I can hook up with Miguel some how, either on skype, iChat or something. 'till then, stay tuned. :)

As you know I am relocating to Las Vegas, NV for employment with a government agency. So I thought I would blog my way there. Right now I've been looking online for apartments, and trying to get to know the area, supermarkets, banks, etc. I leave on the 7th for a few days to get an apartment and get ready then come back to Buffalo to bring more stuff for a finale, one-way, trip to Las Vegas. So, should be interesting. Stay tuned. :)

Well, I did it, after watching the 24 hour news channel (msnbc, cnn) and how bad it seems to be getting, I donated to the redcross at www.redcross.org . If I didn't have this new job starting in Nevada and in the middle of relocating there I would pack up my car with bottled water and food and head down there to volunteer, so I figure the most I could do is donate cash which they need. I encourage all reader's to do the same, now more than ever. These are our people, our country.

New Orleans is in trouble, this was known to happen though. The city is below sea level, and it's in a delta, anyone who went to college and took geology 101 know's a delta changes all the time. So why didn't we spend the time and money to try and prevent this, put buildings on higher ground. Now we're going to have to spend More money and clean this up and relocate people. And there's a lot of people who need help, but there's some people who don't, like the looter's, there in waist high water and their trying to get 12 pair's of Nike shoe's or a big screen TV. This Saturday marks the 40th Anniversary of Congress passing the most successful piece of civil rights legislation in history: the Voting Rights Act (VRA) of 1965. Unfortunately, unless Congress votes to renew several key sections of the law, they will expire by 2007.

Congress could begin considering renewal legislation as early as this fall, so we need your help now to make sure that all of the expiring provisions are renewed and restored and to prevent opponents of the VRA from sabotaging the reauthorization.

Today you can help ensure a return to fairness not just for immigrants, but for everybody, by urging Congress to support the Civil Liberties Restoration Act of 2005. These are not just “immigration” issues; current policies are a fundamental threat to the guarantee of due process for all people—as expressly required by the Constitution—and they endanger all of our rights.

Calling the VRA the most successful civil rights bill ever really isn’t an exaggeration. By the end of 1965, more than a quarter million blacks had registered to vote. In the past forty years, the number of African-American elected officials has risen from 300 to close to 10,000. After nearly a century under the “Jim Crow” system, which denied African-Americans the right to vote, the Voting Rights Act finally made clear that the Constitution’s guarantee of equality under the law means what it says.

The expiring provisions include a section that requires voting districts with a history of discrimination to pre-approve or “pre-clear” changes to voting laws with the Justice Department or a federal court in Washington; a provision that gives the attorney general the authority to appoint poll watchers and election monitors; and a crucial provision that guarantees language assistance to voters with limited English proficiency.

These sections must be renewed if we are to ensure the continued success of the Voting Rights Act.

In addition, the legislation must also restore the spirit of the VRA by clarifying the kinds of circumstances that result in a retrenchment of voting rights for minority citizens. These important clarifications are needed because of recent Supreme Court decisions that have substantially weakened the effectiveness of the Act.

Although the law ended poll taxes and literacy tests that were expressly designed to disfranchise minorities, discrimination still occurs in subtler, yet no less harmful, forms. For instance, just last year, a federal court determined that the state of South Dakota was officially conspiring to disfranchise American Indians. And, the state of Louisiana has never had a proposed change to its electoral law approved by the Justice Department.

Office Max has no notebooks in their ads this week.

This week's deal is: Office Depot. It has an AMD processor which is better than intel, it only has 256MB of ram but memory is cheap if you buy it from a third party, like crucial.com and it doesn't come with wireless but you can buy that separate for about $20, which you kind of need if your a student on campus, but not necessary. So, for $429 for a notebook you can't go wrong. The next runner up would have to be Compusa, for they have a acer with 512MB of ram, 512 is what you really need now a days. Happy shopping!!! :)

A new day means a new week, I've finally figured out the enclosure thing with the mp3's so you should be able to subscribe to the podcast through iTunes music store or whatever aggregator you use. Dave Winer has finally released a version of OPML for the Mac, the windows version has been out for about a week now. Very cool outliner, I highly recommend it. Later on I'm probaly going to do some comparison's of Laptop's that are on sale this week at major Computer store chain's and see who has the best deal's, kind of a new segment. So, stay tuned. :)

In this debate, over time, we will be going over the difference's, and which is better of the two platforms, Mac's and Window's machines.
My entry is going to be on the Mac's and why I think they are better. So, here it goes.
why are they known to be better than pc's at rendering images and video? There isn't one specific reason, but really it's a combination of things. They don't use the x86 architecture, and so are free to design whatever type of hardware they want. Their processors are designed around vector based math and have a very powerful vector unit, which is used a lot in rendering. Also the displays they make are very good quality. There are also things in the operating system, such as hardware acceleration and full-time anti-aliasing which help.

OK, I'm going to say it, I'm an Independent and lately I've been taking the democrats side, but in this case, with Rove, and the dems wanting him fired, I have to take the Republican side. The Dem's are getting all overworked up over this, there is way to much other stuff to be worrying about than Rove being fired, Yes there should be no leaks in the CIA, but to create a whole investigation by congress is going to far, it's a waste of our tax dollars, WE ARE IN DEBT, if we're going to do an investigation, investigate why we're in Iraq, our Education system, and why a lot of our LOCAL government's (ie. Counties) are in such a deficit and just keep raising taxes on the citizens. Yes, it's good to be a Independent, I can choose what topics to take sides on, it's the American dream in progress. :)

"Less than two weeks ago, members of the johnkerry.com community demanded that Karl Rove be fired for his deliberate attempt to, once again, use the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks to divide America. Now Karl Rove is embroiled in another controversy concerning the leaked identity of a covert CIA agent, which was done to punish her husband, a man who had the courage to tell the truth about manipulated intelligence in Iraq.

Karl Rove is the President's top advisor in the White House and what he has admitted doing has deep and troubling consequences for our national security.

It's hard to understand how the President can tolerate his top advisor being involved in exposing a CIA agent in the name of politics by telling reporters about her work - making her already dangerous job that much more dangerous.

In order to do what the President called on us to do earlier this week - "continue to take the fight to the enemy" - the White House and Karl Rove must stop taking it to their so-called political enemies here at home.

It's perfectly clear that Rove - the person at the center of the slash and burn, smear and divide tactics that have come to characterize the Bush Administration - has to go.

Despite carefully worded denials, it is now apparent that Karl Rove discussed the identity of an undercover CIA agent with a reporter. His clear aim was to discredit that agent's husband who had dared to challenge the Administration in the buildup to the war.

There appears to be no limit to the lengths to which Rove - and this Administration - will go. But, there is a limit to the patience of the American people - and we have reached it. President Bush has a choice to make: Spend the months ahead focused on protecting Karl Rove's job security or spend them focused on protecting America's national security.

We are asking the President and the White House to do what they promised. When the scandal first broke, here's what the President's spokesman, Scott McClellan, said:

"If anyone in this Administration was involved in it, they would no longer be in this Administration." (9/29/03, White House press briefing). Now we will find out if the Administration honors its word. Call on President Bush to keep his word and fire Rove now:
